If you are at least a little bit like me and your muse is more unpredictable, like a cat that wonders and comes back only when it feels like it, what do you do? During December of 2012 I was working on webdesign and visual identity project for Institute for Sound and Space. It's a culture center for creative people and projects that have a focus on sound, space and various visual arts.

It wasn't an ordinary exam project as the client is very well known. Moreover, the project was set up as a competition - there was about 10 multimedia design student groups consisting of 3-4 members. Even though my group didn't win, I decided to share the result of our work.

Yes. You download virtual dj and disapear in the world of music. Searching for "inspiration" you say to your group-mates. Exam can wait! (no it can't but just ignore it). And the actual result of this distraction quite satisfies me, I even like it better then the original song.

Street Art in Aarhus

This poster/collage is made for a school project about street art in Aarhus, Denmark. I was working together with Claudia Lucy and we had a great time walking around the streets of Aarhus, scouting for small or big peaces of art. From the beginning we had an idea what we want to create - vintage Italian/French poster with a pop art touch:

Mood-board.Inspirations.Concept.

We wanted the poster to combine every detail as if it's a collage, with colors that have deep vintage shades, Impact Label font that has that strong, clear, old-school prints look and pictures of street art with attitude and spirit.

We would love to receive some critique on how we did!

Lately I've received a lot of questions about image editing. I'm very happy about it! It means that my pictures have gotten better!

A few minutes ago I was writing a reply for one of these questions (about skin smoothing), and decided to write it here as well. I Don't see it as a top secret since I do pretty basic stuff, just simply found a way that works for me. Hope you will find it useful as well!

So here it goes. How much time you will spend on one portrait mostly depends on the model's skin and what kind of photo you are editing. So first, you should remove everything from the model's skin that you wouldn't normally notice, such as acne etc. Secondly, if you need the skin to look extra clear and smooth, use high-end-editing techniques. I think this tutorial is pretty good to start with. And thirdly, to achieve even smoother skin without losing texture, I would recommend to check out this tutorial.

Hope at least some of this was useful. Let me know what you think, and if you know some good tutorials please share it with me! I'm always searching for ways to improve.

I haven't been so excited about having homework since... well.. never! We had to create two mood-boards, one describing how you see yourself, and another one describing what fascinates you visually.

"Beyond" ... and a tip for photography beginners

So first I want to introduce some new pictures I'm very happy about:

"Beyond"

I've been contributing to Deviantart.com for quite some time, but lacked consistency to create new works and manage account and stuff like it.. and just now I started to work more serious. And here I am giving my first tip for making pictures!

So here it is: look at the 2nd and 3rd pictures (colorful ones)- the only difference between them is color overlay. Which one you like more it's for you to decide, I was dying how much I loved soft colored dreamy look in the first one of the two, but in the end I would suggest not to have "color overlay" on the photo. It makes it feel a lot like a "common photo". I'm not an expert photographer but I think that most pictures would be more effective if you use natural lighting and enhance model's eyes (unless you are absolutely sure that your photo needs this dreamy effect). This tip is based on the comments I got from fellas Deviantart contributors.

The best picture I've ever made - it got the most attention and best feedback on Facebook and Deviant art. Please don't think that I'm bragging, I'm quite sad that it's a self-portrait - I made this picture one evening playing around with images I made while testing new remote control for my camera. But don't misunderstand - the composition might be an accident, but the editing part turned playing around into vision, work and finished peace that I'm really proud of!

Check it out and tell what you think! I'm very proud to be a part of this video EP by Ape of Neptune, progressive melodic rock band. Loving the first part with their very new song 'Loss of the Halo'.

When they asked me if I would like to take a part in it as this mystery girl I was so nervous (have to admit that I'm not a very good actor ;D ) ! But now I'm so excited - video looks really good and professional. Thank you guys for a great time while filming it! Can't wait for the other two!

New Colors and Design

Last month I started multimedia design and communication studies in Aarhus business academy (Denmark) and I was really busy but happy happy about everything! Even thought not everything in my life is simple and in order, I couldn't live differently - I need some drama! And maybe I'm a bit overexcited about all new things but I really enjoyed the last month.

So today at school I decided to play a bit with blogger's template html and make some changes in my blog. Mostly it's just a cosmetic change (hey, I'm still a beginner at this!). We had some classes about color theory and I really like my new color palette. Still have some doubts if it's not too girlish??? Ah.. Anyway, now I could change it whatever I want since every week my skills at html and everything else will improve (I promise to myself not to skip classes!).

Oh, one of our assignments is to create a web page about recipes so in a very near future it will be a part of all my blogs and other communicating with people places. My concept at the moment - to have a cute little web site with my recipes and pictures of them, all photographed by me, plus some tips and tricks for healthy diet & faster metabolism I found while searching for healthy habits I could adopt until spring so I could be ready for bikini season without too much effort (^.^)
